Oliver Barrett IV, a wealthy jock from a stuffy WASP family on his way to a Harvard degree and a career in law … Jenny Cavilleri, a sharp-tongued, working-class beauty studying music at Radcliffe . . .
Opposites in nearly every way, Oliver and Jenny are kindred spirits from vastly different worlds. Falling deeply and powerfully, their attraction to one another defies everything they have ever believed—as they share a passion far greater than anything they dreamed possible . . . and explore the wonder of a love that must end too soon.
One of the most adored novels of our time, this is the book that defined a generation—a story of uncompromising devotion, of life as it really is . . . and love that changes everything.

Cried buckets because I didn’t sleep trying to finish up 6 books in 2 days. 1 book was a digital marketing book that I sped through. Sorry. I cheated. 3 books in 12 hours. Slept 12 hours. The rest I finished within a time span of 24 hours. This was my last.

Love the humor. The tensions between father and son. The irony of intelligence and ego.

You have the jock. And the charming girl who everybody in the neighborhood knows.

    Rich guy with poor gal.

    They really play well together.

Eventually, you see how things tie up and that makes this book one of those that has such an impact on you, you know it will haunt you when you visit Rhode Island.

Certain things like V club, falling from a cliff.

Falling from a cliff gave me the shivers.

The word Oh used in so many places.

How she is from a baking family... seems familiar.

No this is not my first read. It is on favorites.

But I never remembered the sad and tough part.

I never do and never will.

My mind has a knack of deleting things.

This time it was super sad.

And I know... and pray for all that have problems when it comes to illness...

That God will be with us all.

And that the world one day will be free of illness.

No matter how impossible it may be...

    From now on...

I will always believe the impossible.

That I will continue the book with.

    “Surprise Preppie! Got you good.”

“You sonavabitch! That kid better win the Super Bowl. You Bozo!”

Quotes

“A good piece. A really good piece.”
That’s all Joel Fleishman, the senior editor, could repeat again and again. Frankly, I had expected a more articulate compliment from the guy who would next year clerk for Justice Douglas, but that’s all he kept saying as he checked over my final draft. Christ, Jenny had told me it was “incisive, intelligent and really well written

And then I did what I had never done in his presence, much less in his arms. I cried.
