“They won’t be playing lacrosse.” I laugh, dark and cruel. “No Harvard. No lacrosse. No cars. No mommy to save them.”

She winces. “You did something to Manda?”

“Manda did it to herself. All I did was expose it. She’s going to have to answer for some surgeries gone wrong. It’ll keep her busy and bleeding money while her sons sit in fucking jail for a bit.”

“You did all this for me?”

I let out a derisive snort. “Don’t read into it, Cinderelliott.”

“Too late.” Her voice takes on a teasing lilt that makes my dick very, very hard. “You can’t deny it, Win. You loooooove me.”

Dad adored our mother. He spoiled her with gifts and attention and praise. Protected her at all costs. Defended her if anyone stood against her.

“Don’t.” He nips at my bottom lip, silencing me. “You don’t.”

Manda Mannford, was able to find some people who were paid off for botched surgeries. All it took was a call from my attorney, the great Anthony Lambruski, offering to represent them for free and they quickly agreed their payoff wasn’t enough for the terrible medical care they received.

Me and Ash both laugh. The only real perverts in this room are the two of us. The little Constantines are just wannabe perverts.

I ignore that endearment, but I know Ash heard it because she starts to cry, clinging to my chest

I’m here, baby,” I rumble, kissing the top of her head. “You’re safe now.”

I’d struggled with whatever it is me and Ash are, but in that moment, seeing her in their grasp, I lost my fucking head.
