Hidden deep in the Alaskan mountains stands a small cabin that holds unspeakable secrets. The shack appears to be a lifesaver in the freezing night—until you notice the overwhelming stench from within. This cabin stands as a monument to methodical evil. Behind its dilapidated exterior lies a well-oiled killing operation - saws hanging in their designated spots, a backhoe ready to fill freshly dug graves, and inside, Carl's macabre collection of trophies.

When Cali disappears while on her first adventure far from home, it's up to Detective Sara Ponte to find and rescue her from the hands of a serial killer family, the Westford's. The Westford family homestead sits isolated down a dusty dirt road, far from prying eyes. A place where screams go unheard. Newly installed bars on every window, deadbolts on bedroom doors, and not another soul for miles. The perfect prison disguised as a family home, where the Westford siblings keep their dark secrets hidden behind locked doors.

And then there's the Westford barn. We won't mention what we find in there.

This book is first in a series featuring Detective Sara Ponte.
