Most WWII books tell you what happened. Jack’s Story tells you what it felt like to live

through it.

Through the letters and memories of a 7th Armored Division tank commander, the battles

become personal—the fear, the responsibility, the men beside him, and the family waiting for

him at home. Behind every battle map was a human being with a story.

He was 23 years old, newly married, with a baby on the way.

Weeks after entering combat, Jack Wilson was fighting for survival at St. Vith during the Battle

of the Bulge.

After being wounded by German artillery, he wrote home:

“I was very lucky to get off as easy as I did, and I have never prayed as much in my life as I did

when those shells came in. Many were less fortunate.

Jack’s Story is about the young man inside the tank.
