"I love learning about science and history. That's something that I felt like I could do pretty well. And I felt very confident. I also felt like there was an audience out there, an under-served audience that was hungry for these science and history-based thrillers. What I would say is I chose my genre very well." Riddle said.

His fourth novel, Departure, follows the survivors of a flight that takes off in 2015 and crash-lands in a changed world. 20th Century Fox is developing it for a feature film.

His Pandemic (2017) focuses on a team of researchers investigating an outbreak that could alter the human race. The sequel, Genome, concludes the two-book series.

Winter World (2019) depicts a group of scientists racing to stop a global ice age. It is the first book in The Long Winter Trilogy.

The time travel thriller Lost in Time (2022) follows a widowed father whose girlfriend gets murdered, and he and his daughter face accusations of the crime. And this takes place in the future in which murderers aren't sent to prison. They're sent to the past, 200 million years into the past, to the time of the dinosaurs. The book became a Sunday Time bestseller.

His latest novel is Quantum Radio (2023), a science fiction novel that combines elements of quantum physics, scientific discovery, and suspense.
