Quinn Loftis is an American author known for her paranormal and fantasy romance novels. She is best recognised for her Grey Wolves series, beginning with Prince of Wolves (2011), which has been downloaded over one million times. Since her debut, Loftis has published more than 40 novels.
Quinn began her career in nursing. In 2009, her husband bought her an e-reader, sparking her interest in the growing world of self-publishing. After researching authors like Amanda Hocking, she realised everyday people were publishing their books.
“I decided I didn’t really have anything to lose and I wanted to at least try to write a novel,” she said. She wrote Prince of Wolves in a week while the doctors she worked for were on vacation, but waited a year before publishing. In June 2011, with encouragement from her husband, Loftis self-published the book.
By the time her third book was released, she was able to leave her job as a nurse and write full time. “Eight months later and three books, and I was able to quit my job,” she recalled. Loftis has released three to four books per year since then. Her success came in part due to her early entry into the self-publishing market, but she also credits reader loyalty and her efforts to remain connected with them.
Quinn writes character-driven fiction that often blends fantasy with emotional depth and nuance. Her stories include werewolves, vampires, shifters, and witches, but always centre on human connection. “People read to escape,” she said, “but they also read so that they can find someone to relate to.”
A Christian, Quinn does not write religious fiction but often includes a Creator figure in her books. “I believe God has given me a platform to share His love in a very unique way.”
Quinn Loftis lives in Western Arkansas with her husband, three sons, a French Bulldog, and a tabby cat.
