Eva Fejos

Eva Fejos is one of Hungary’s most successful contemporary authors. She has written 49 bestselling novels, selling over one million copies in her home country alone. Her stories are renowned for their emotional depth, empowering characters and immersive settings, which transport readers across the globe — even if only from the comfort of their own homes.

A writer, journalist, and publisher, Eva first discovered the joy of storytelling as a child. By her teenage years, she was already experimenting with novel manuscripts, learning the craft through tireless writing and voracious reading. Though she initially wrote for herself and a small circle of supportive readers, Eva’s talent quickly found a wider audience. Her first published novel, Holtodiglan, was released under a pseudonym in 1999 and later republished as Most kezdődik in 2013 through her imprint, Erawan Publishing.

Between 2008 and 2012, Eva’s novels became household names in Hungary during her time with Ulpius-ház Publishing. In 2013, she founded Erawan Könyvkiadó, through which she now publishes her books and selected international fiction in Hungarian translation. This bold move gave her creative and editorial freedom, allowing her to maintain a close connection to her audience and their evolving tastes.

Eva’s novels often feature brave protagonists whose journeys of personal transformation deeply resonate with readers. Many fans describe her work as healing and uplifting, likening it to a literary holiday that offers both escapism and insight. Whether set in exotic destinations or emotionally rich domestic landscapes, her books are written in a fresh, modern voice that feels both relatable and cinematic.

In addition to her literary work, Eva Fejos has a background in journalism, having written extensively on health and human-interest stories, and has earned accolades such as the Minőségi Újságírásért-díj (Award for Quality Journalism). She also produced a 22-episode TV series on home care and received a Nívódíj award in 1999.

Eva Fejos continues to write full-time, often inspired by her travels, real-life encounters, and an enduring belief in the transformative power of storytelling.
