Chloe Ford

Chloe Ford is a British author of romantic comedies set in the United Kingdom. She is best known for her debut novel, Work Trip, and its sequel, House Party, both published in 2025. Her stories combine rural settings with contemporary relationship dynamics and slow-burning romantic tension.

Chloe Ford grew up in rural Sussex and now lives in Gloucestershire. She retains a strong connection with the countryside, with interests that include horse riding and muddy trail walking. Her early interest in storytelling began during her secondary school years. "My English teacher would set a writing task for the whole lesson," she recalls. That time in the classroom helped develop a love of writing that she carried into adulthood.

As a teenager, she read novels in secret. "I started sneaking Mills & Boon books out from under my mother's bed," she says. Romance has remained her favourite genre ever since, although her reading list also includes thrillers, historical fiction and literary works such as Barbara Kingsolver's Demon Copperhead. Her favourite authors include Lisa Kleypas, Emily Henry and Beth O'Leary.

Ford's debut, Work Trip (2025), explores the evolving relationship between Fliss and her colleague James during a forced wilderness retreat in the Scottish Highlands. After their boss leaves them stranded with one tent, two sleeping bags and limited supplies, the pair must work together to return safely. Their rivalry dissolves under pressure as they face the physical and emotional challenges of survival in remote terrain.

Her second book, House Party (2025), follows Hattie, who has quietly loved Freddie for fifteen years. A New Year's getaway to a snowbound cabin sets the stage for long-held feelings to surface. Surrounded by snowy landscapes, failed phone signals, and a hot tub, Hattie and Freddie are drawn into a romantic reckoning that could change their lives.

Chloe Ford writes about romantic tension in remote locations with humour and emotional depth. She continues to live and write in Gloucestershire.
