Erin Green is a British author of contemporary romance and romantic comedy novels. She is best known for A Christmas Wish (2017), The Magic of Christmas Tree Farm (2018), and the Lakeside Cottage series. Her work often combines themes of friendship, renewal, and emotional growth. In 2017, she received the Katie Fforde Bursary from the Romantic Novelists’ Association.
Erin Green was born and raised in Warwickshire, England. From an early age, she was captivated by books and storytelling. As a child, she read nightly before bed, drawn to the works of Enid Blyton, Dorothy Edwards, and Alf Prøysen. She has recalled that reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis marked a turning point. “I honestly believe C.S. Lewis took me by the hand that night,” she said, “and I’m yet to return home.”
Her academic path reflected her dual interests in language and human behaviour. Erin holds two honours degrees: a BA in English Literature and a BSc in Psychology. Before becoming a full-time writer, she worked across several industries, including retail, fitness, and education. She later joined the Romantic Novelists’ Association, where she met many established authors and attended workshops, conferences, and retreats to develop her craft.
Her publishing journey began in 2017 during a writer’s retreat in Bristol. There she met literary agent Lizzy Kremer, who encouraged her to contact an editor seeking a Christmas-themed novel. The result was A Christmas Wish, published the same year by Aria, part of Head of Zeus. The book’s success led to further publications, including The Magic of Christmas Tree Farm (2018) and From Shetland, With Love (2020). These novels are characterised by light humour, strong female friendships, and emotional honesty.
Her more recent works include Summer Dreams at the Lakeside Cottage (2023) and Christmas Wishes at the Lakeside Cottage (2023). The Lakeside Cottage books explore the intersecting lives of three women —Beth, Koo, and Lulu —who meet by chance and retreat to the Lake District to reevaluate their choices. Erin often uses such ensemble storytelling to explore everyday relationships with warmth and precision.
Beyond writing, Erin Green has described herself as a devoted reader, tea drinker, and keen observer of people. She owns several tortoises and admits to an “obsession with time.” Erin continues to write daily, often joining sessions at the London Writers’ Salon.
