Susanna Rogers

Susanna Rogers is an Australian writer of psychological thrillers and young adult fiction. She is best known for the Infiltration series (2017–2018) and her thriller Under the Skin (2025), published by Bloodhound Books.

Susanna Rogers discovered her love of stories at an early age. “As a child, I could never get my hands on enough books,” she recalled. First, she found Nancy Drew and Donna Parker at the library. Later, in high school, she encountered Anthony Burgess’ A Clockwork Orange, which she described as a turning point in her reading life. “My world changed,” she said. Fiction became the safe way to explore extremes without danger.

Before publishing her novels, Rogers pursued many interests outside writing. A fixation with the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer led her to begin kickboxing. She later earned a second-degree black belt and taught classes before moving to Krav Maga. “It’s messy and fun and very efficient,” she explained.

Her first young adult novel, Infiltration (2017), introduced Nicola Gray, an elite soldier sent back from a dystopian future to prevent a virus outbreak. It was followed by Regeneration (2018), in which Nicola faces divided loyalties between her mission and her relationship with Ben Tanner, and Validation (2018), which concludes the trilogy with Nicola confronting New Nation to save millions of lives.

In 2025, Rogers released Under the Skin, her first psychological thriller. The novel follows Kate Mamotte, a survivor of a violent attack whose husband died in the struggle. Moving to Perth for a fresh start, Kate becomes entangled in new threats after receiving flowers apparently from her deceased husband. The book explores grief, paranoia, and the secrets that lie buried. “She survived the attack. But the real danger is just beginning,” the blurb warns.

Rogers describes herself as “a writing nerd” who enjoys working across genres. She has said, “Too much writing is never enough.” With her combination of young adult science fiction and adult thrillers, she has built a body of work centred on characters facing extraordinary challenges.
