At the age of thirty eight Sharon Griffiths, a school teacher living in South Wales with her husband and two young daughters, was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a huge shock to her and her family, yet in this book she shows how her faith as a Christian was an inspiration that took her through her experiences. Her year long journey is a tale that breathes hope and honesty, humour and also heartache. She faced the difficulty of explaining what was happening to her two young girls about her illness and many hospital trips. She tells of her experiences with hospital visits, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a mastectomy and the physical rollercoaster that it all entailed. Her book is full of insight into how someone hearing they have cancer and the treatment ahead reacts, how it affects the family, and in Sharon’s case how the support of her husband Andrew, her family and also her Christian faith were so invaluable and helped her through the experience. Sharon’s story is one of honesty, humour and more than anything hope! She has come through the pain and is a living example that with God’s strength and a wonderful supportive family you can come through such circumstances stronger and smiling. For those going through similar challenge, for friends, families and loved ones of those on their journey, this book gives insight, understanding and reassurance and more than anything hope for a brighter and faith filled tomorrow. t will make you laugh, it will make you cry and it will help you understand.
