A Basket Of Gems is a story about real people living in actual small towns. The life-time love of the authors for each other is a major part of the book. Bob is from a poor family from the wrong side of the tracks; Jean is from a prominent family from the other side. Her father was a pitcher in the first World Series and later Justice of the Peace.
