Traversing some of the same murky and lurid terrain as his first two collections, here the author captures images and tales from outside the inland seas region-spinning cautionary yarns through poems featuring a devil, a hobgoblin, and a lonesome tomcat. Much more troubling are the humans in these poems-making bad choices and suffering the consequences of heartbreak and death. Settings are overcast and mostly nocturnal (as promised) but there is also just enough love and romance weaved in to make the rest bearable. This is the third installment in a planned series of thirteen.
