Книга рассказывает как философия поможет жить в удовольствие и уменьшить уровень тревоги. Местами немного затянута и повторяется, но стоит того, чтобы прочитать всю.

I would start with the book of Massimo Pigliucci (actualy, I did) before reading this book. His books is easier to read and it explains the basic principles of Stoicism very well too.
But William Irvine's work is more comprehensive, no doubt, and I like it.
The only annoying thing is repeating the same thoughts several times, as is customary in American books. But we are Stoics, guys, these are just details :)

game, he might go on to comment about what an astonishing thing glass vessels are: They are cheap and fairly durable, impart no taste to what we put in them, and—miracle of miracles!—allow us to see what they contain. This might sound a bit silly, but to someone who has not lost his capacity for joy, the world is a wonderful place.
