In the field of heterodox economics, the thermoeconomics school of thought, which is sometimes known as biophysical economics, is a school of thought that applies the laws of statistical mechanics to economic theory. A subfield of econophysics, thermoeconomics can be regarded of as the statistical physics of economic value. It is also another name for thermoeconomics.
