A young man must solve the murder he has been accused of, and piece together the clues, all the while a predatory detective, D.I. Baxter Morgan is on his tail…

James Lithgow has been accused of murder, his DNA found all over a crime scene in a previously crime-ridden London.

London's inhabitants have had to choose between an over-zealous police state or exist in the safety of their own home. Outside, deserted high streets, empty stores and bankrupt retailers remain.

The puzzle: with no criminal record, Lithgow's DNA has been netted by the Government's expanded DNA database. His guilt is readily assumed. With seemingly impossible odds he must contest the government's silver bullet match and prove his innocence.

Lithgow's only clues are a dog, a diary and his own DNA…
