The Great Gatsby

The last time I read this book was when I was 19 years old. I couldn't understand much about it. 36 years later, I read it again. Now it all made sense. I can identify with Gatsby and feel his anguish, hopes, fears and joy. Life is not about living a dream but making a dream come true and when that dream is fulfilled, you realised it is actually a nightmare. It's best to be pragmatic and lead a simple life, even if you're filthy rich.

Read twice, fully understood only years later
There is absolutely nothing romantic about the story

Wonderful! Very simple plot, but final is heartbreaking

Unexpected turns, fast read, very good to study
