Two hundred years after the apocalyptic event known as The Flare, the United States has since separated into three warring nations: the Proud Commonwealth of America (PCA), Neo Confederacy of America (NCA), and United Federation of America (UFA). In this socialist society, born from a world-ending tragedy, PCA family units are extinct, as it is now deemed illegal to have children naturally.
Satellizer and Garcia, residents of PCA, struggle against this corrupt system and escalating warfare to finally find a life together. The Divide is a great read that focuses on what such a society would be like, with underlying themes of the evils of segregation.
