The words of Solomon in Proverbs 6:5 ring with urgency and timeless wisdom:
“Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.”
This book was born out of a burden to awaken believers to the necessity of immediate action in matters that concern life, destiny, and eternity. Too often, people remain trapped in cycles of sin, unhealthy relationships, destructive habits, or financial bondage because they delay their response. They hope for a more convenient season, forgetting that delay is itself a snare.
The imagery of the roe is deliberate. The roe (or deer) survives not because it is the strongest animal in the wild but because it is alert, swift, and decisive. The moment it senses danger, it does not negotiate with the hunter—it runs! This is the same mindset God expects of His children when faced with the snares of life.
In 2 Corinthians 6:2, the Scripture reminds us:
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
Deliverance is never tomorrow’s business—it is today’s urgent call. Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife without hesitation (Genesis 39:12). Lot escaped Sodom without looking back (Genesis 19:17). Paul repeatedly warned the Church to “flee youthful lusts” (2 Timothy 2:22). In every case, survival and victory depended on immediate, decisive action.
The purpose of this book is to help you recognize the traps that seek to capture your destiny and to equip you with biblical principles and practical wisdom for self-deliverance. While God is the ultimate Deliverer, He has also given us the responsibility to respond quickly to His warnings and take ownership of our choices. Your freedom begins the moment you decide to act.
This book is not merely about information—it is about transformation. My prayer is that as you read, you will sense the urgency of the Spirit, awaken to areas where you must “deliver yourself,” and receive grace to walk in lasting freedom.
As Proverbs 4:23 declares:
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
Your life and destiny are too precious to be wasted in the traps of the enemy. Deliver yourself like a roe—swiftly, decisively, and with courage.
