i do remember how the sixth film was one of my favourite ones. and probably, for the first time since i started reading the harry potter book series, i would say that i prefer the movie over the book.

maybe i waited for reading this instalment too long or had high hopes, and that’s why i can’t say that i enjoyed it in the same way as previous ones. it was also the case when for the first time the screenwriters changed the script and shown the plot differently as it’s been written in the book by rowling.

and yet i honestly can’t even say what exactly i didn’t like in this book. i kind of knew what to expect. i truly love the story of snape and was keen to get to know the details of voldemort’s early life (or should i call it tom riddle’s?). i also eagerly waited for the development of the relationship between ginny and harry, because i knew how in the film it’d been shown in so idiotic way, so it appeared dull and slow-witted for viewers. of course, the last scene of dumbledore’s departure accompanied by the phoenix lament was super dramatic and drastic.

overall, i liked the sixth book and it’s definitely worth reading. i’m just a bit confused and don’t get a point about what was really wrong for me.
