The Analogue Brain in the Digital Era considers how our ancient brain handles modern times. During the past century, we left a reality with a lack of sugar, information and relationships and entered an era with an abundance of the same. We now have the opportunity to strive towards feeling good, but are limited by a brain that remains focused on survival. At the same time, the path to well-being does not appear to be through avoiding discomfort, even though it has never been easier to do so, at least temporarily. The book provides a background as to why we think, feel and act the way we do in the work environment and at home. The author gives her perspective on what we can do to take advantage of the opportunities that we have with a brain that is both adaptive and ancient. Anna Tebelius Bodin has a master’s degree from Harvard University, USA. Today, she is an award-winning public speaker on topics related to brain functions, communication and leadership.

    👍Worth reading

Dr Bodin explains, in easy-to-understand terms, exactly what chemical processes take place while we confront and react to stressful situations. She takes it one step further and offers practical suggestions to deal with situations and turn them to your advantage rather than just reacting to the oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine cursing through our systems.
