We are not built to hold on to everything life sends our way. We are meant to feel, process and accept. That’s the way our design works best.

Reading in the company of someone who is also reading makes for an amazing, unspoken, felt connection.

“I’m not going to let my tumour define me or my life. I won’t give it that much power.”
These words, spoken by a woman I met at the airport one day, resonated with me for weeks to come. She had recently been diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer and was due to have surgery three days later to remove a large tumor from her brain. “There’s a difference between feeling pain and suffering,” she said. “I’m not going to suffer.”
