Our love of guns, our ideas of “charity,” property value, our veneration of our military – everything from gambling to psychics – they’re all just a manifestation of the divisions we build all around us.
We have a perfect metaphor for the divisions we build, that we constantly build, all around us in the fences encircling our homes, our schools, cities and country, dividing you, defining you. We build them all the time in ways both literal and figurative.
