ADAM & EVE – Psychedelic Promise 1965 London
Book 4 of 6: The Turning Tide
This fourth book of six is summarized as follows:
Winter 1967 finds Adam and Eve at a crossroads as London's counterculture darkens. Eve throws herself into feminist activism, organizing marches and confronting sexism within radical circles, while Adam grapples with his art's purpose as his friend Marcus falls under a cult leader's influence. Their relationship strains under these pressures until a transformative trip to Paris, in May 1968, immerses them in the burgeoning student uprising. Witnessing police brutality and revolutionary fervor reignites Adam's creative passion, while Eve connects with French feminists. Returning to London with renewed clarity, they pursue purposeful activism—Eve launching a feminist newsletter, Adam creating politically charged art. When a humbled Marcus reappears, questioning his cult involvement, they realize their movement is maturing beyond naive idealism. The story captures 1967's pivotal shift from psychedelic dreams to organized resistance, as Adam and Eve trade flower-power innocence for committed revolution while preserving their bond.
I do hope you enjoy this fourth instalment, and it's only $3.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 1/2 minutes, called Electric Pulse, and prepares you for the start, synthesizer, bass and cymbals in a soul/funk form. The closing music, called Full Motion, ends the tale on a darker tone and at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments, genre and industrial/fearful mood but with more caution added.
The book itself runs to about 15 minutes and is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!
